A big hazy IPA with Pineapple and papaya on the nose then a punch of fruit flavours like tangerine and mango and a dry and peppery finish.
About Alpha Delta Brewing
A Newburn craft brewer received a welcome surprise when social media revealed his business has been named among the top 10 new breweries in the world.
Both Alpha Delta Brewing in the west of Newcastle and Full Circle Brew in the east of the city earned spots in the Rate Beer Award's list of the top 10 new brewers.
The accolades come after a challenging year for the young breweries, with bar rooms closed across the country, as they have been at various points since March 2020.
Alpha Delta brewery owner Ross Holland only found out his business was named in the top 10 when he checked his social media accounts.
Ross said: "We knew nothing about it until the other breweries started tagging us in posts on social media. It was a really nice surprise.
"To get something like this, it gives us a boost and might boost sales a bit."
Ross, from Westerhope, had been involved in the beer trade for nearly a decade before launching his own brewing venture in Alpha Delta.
He worked for Anarchy Brewery, then ran Box Social in Forth Street, Newcastle before founding Alpha Delta. Keen to make his own mark on Newcastle's impressive brewing landscape, Ross focussed on brewing beers which are "big and bold". The range includes IPAs, DIPAs, sour beers and a stout which packs in 9.5% ABV.
"Me and my Dad, Steve, built it up from nothing," Ross explained,
"We started brewing in the garage. We still have that brew kit, which we use as a cleaning tank!"
